Ravenair is one of the North-Wests leading flight training organisations
and we have been teaching people to fly for 28 years, both
for pleasure and commercially. In fact many of our former students,
who began with a trial flight, have since gone on to fly
commercially for many of the worlds airlines!
Ravenair Trial Flights are available
from
City Airport Manchester (Barton Aerodrome) & Liverpool John Lennon
Airport

On arriving at Ravenair you will be greeted and introduced to your
Flying Instructor. You and your party can relax and have a coffee in
our lounge, while your fully qualified Instructor will explain the format
of your first flying lesson.
Your
Instructor will show you an aeronautical chart and explain where your
flight is likely to take you, as well as answer any questions you may
have. You will be handed a headset and then shown out to your aircraft,
a PA38 Tomahawk or a PA28 Warrior. Your party can come out onto the
apron to take some pictures if you wish, or can reside in the comfort,
and warmth of the lounge.
Before you enter the aircraft, there are some checks and procedures
that must be carried out before every flight, and your Instructor will
talk you through these checks and point out the main elements of the
airframe.
Once in the aircraft the engine is started, and permission will be
requested from Air Traffic Control to taxi to the end of the runway.
A few more checks will be carried out and then you will be cleared to
take-off. Once your Instructor has the aircraft airborne you will be
given control for the remainder of the flight and shown a few of the
basics!
During the flight, subject to the prevailing weather conditions and
Air Traffic Control, your Instructor will endeavour to take the flight
over your house or favourite landmark, perhaps your local football club
or shopping centre, wherever you desire, the sky is the limit!
Unfortunately for you, the Instructor will take control of the aircraft
to land, but you can sit back and enjoy the experience! |
