JAR Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL)

This is the basic licence required before you can receive any remuneration for your flying. At Ravenair we normally undertake the training for this licence in the twin-engine Piper PA34 Seneca. If a twin is used for the CPL, then the skills test can also be used to pass a Multi-Engine Rating (MEP) - thus saving time and money sitting a separate test. The CPL Course is 28 hours (20 hours spent in PA28/PA38 and 8 hours in PA34), but reduced to 25 hours if you already hold a MEP rating.

  • Must hold a Private Pilot's Licence (PPL)
  • Passed all the CPL and ATPL theorectical Knowledge exams within the preceding 36 months from gaining a pass in all exams.
