Flight Training

Ravenair Flying School offers the highest professional standards with many years of experience in flight training, taking student pilots from their very first lesson through to their Commercial Pilot's Licence, Instrument Rating and beyond. The company presently holds more CAA and EASA training approvals than any other North West organisation.

The flying courses offered at Ravenair are:

  • JAR Private Pilot's Licence (PPL)
  • National Private Pilot's Licence (NPPL)
  • Night Qualification
  • Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) Rating
  • Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) Rating
  • JAR Multi-Engine Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL)
  • Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (IR)
  • Flight Instructor (FI) Rating
  • Class Rating Instructor (CRI) Rating
  • Removal of 'No Night' restriction from a FI Rating
  • Removal of 'No Applied Instrument' restriction from a FI Rating

Addition of 'Multi-Engine' privileges to a FI Rating Groundschool training for the six theoretical knowledge subjects of the Private Pilot's Licence is offered, either in the form of one-to-one tuition with an instructor or by attending evening groundschool classes for each of the six subjects.

Training and testing for the Radiotelephony Licence is also provided, which is a separate entity to the Private Pilot's Licence but necessary for anyone wishing to operate to and from airfields with Air Traffic Control.

Ravenair does not currently offer training for the Commercial Pilot's Licence or Airline Transport Pilot's Licence Theoretical Knowledge Examinations, but we can offer suggestions of commercial groundschool providers.
