Flight Training
Even those who do not wish to pursue a professional flying career often want to be able to fly a higher performance aircraft than that used for PPL training. With a MEP Rating you can fly one of Ravenair's larger and more powerful aircraft like the Piper Aztec or Piper Seneca. They allow flight in icing conditions and have a capacity for five passengers. Learning how to control the aircraft under asymmetric power forms the major part of the MEP Rating.
Requirements for obtaining a MEP:
- Minimum of 6 hours flight training:
- 2 hours 30 minutes dual instruction under normal conditions of Multi-Engine operations
- 3 hours 30 minutes dual instruction in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques
- 7 hours mandatory groundschool
- Passing the 1 written exam (75% or higher)
- Passing the Final Airborne Skill Test with Flight Examiner

The FI course at Ravenair Liverpool was not only thoroughly enjoyable, but it was also of great benefit to my aviation knowledge, aircraft handling and my continued pilot career.
I found the training to be first class
The instructors were both brilliant, knowledgeable, experienced, positive and very encouraging. They pushed and worked me hard throughout the course and my training programme was really well strucutured. I'm delighted that I chose Ravenair for my planned career change.
