Pre-Requisites
To instruct for the IR(R)/IMC rating:
Have completed at least 10 hours flight time by sole reference to instruments
To instructor for the IR in a simulator:
Have completed at least 200 hours under IFR after the issuance of the IR, of which at least 50 shall be in aeroplanes.
To instruct for the IR in an aircraft:
For those who hold an FI rating, have completed at least 200 hours of instrument flight time.
For those who do not hold an FI rating, have completed at least 800 hours of instrument flight time.
Privileges
To be able to provide instruction for the issue, revalidation and renewal of an IR, EIR, or IR(R) on the appropriate aircraft category.
The Course
The instrument instructor training course varies depending on whether an FI rating is already held. The minimum training includes:

Cost
The Instrument Instructor course must be purchased as a package. Packages include all items listed in “Training Course” above, as well as all landings and circuit fees, as well as examiner hire and aircraft hire for the skills test.
